Corporate Campus Security
Corporate Lobby & Reception Security
Your lobby is the first thing visitors see and the first line of protection for your people. Vigilant CQ Security places well-presented, PSIRA-registered officers in office lobbies, reception areas and corporate campuses to manage visitors, watch the entrance and respond calmly when something is out of place.
- Professional front-desk presence
- Visitor sign-in and escort
- PSIRA-registered officers
- Supervised and reported

Security that still feels like a welcome
A corporate reception has two jobs that can pull against each other: making clients and guests feel welcome, and making sure that only the right people get beyond the front desk. Lobby officers need to do both. They must be courteous, well-groomed and confident with the public, while staying alert to tailgating, unexpected deliveries and people who seem to be testing the building.
We place lobby and reception officers in:
- Head offices and single-tenant corporate buildings
- Multi-tenant office blocks with a shared ground-floor lobby
- Corporate campuses with several buildings and a central reception
- Professional practices, such as medical and legal suites, with walk-in visitors
What lobby officers typically handle
- Visitor sign-in and confirming appointments with the host before allowing access
- Escorting visitors to meeting rooms or floors where your policy requires it
- Turnstile and access card support, including lost or forgotten cards
- Courier and delivery handling at the desk instead of letting couriers roam the building
- After-hours floor checks for open doors, windows and unattended equipment
- Emergency support: assisting with evacuations according to the building's procedures
On campuses with separate vehicle gates, lobby officers are usually paired with gatehouse security and, where needed, patrols of grounds and parking areas.
Choosing the right officers for your reception
Not every officer suits a front desk. For lobby posts we look for people who communicate clearly, handle difficult visitors without escalating, and present well in a corporate setting. All officers are PSIRA-registered and screened before deployment, and they are briefed on your building, your tenants or departments, and your visitor policy.
Most lobby posts are unarmed, which suits an office environment. Where the risk profile calls for it, we can discuss an armed officer elsewhere on the site, as described on our armed guards page. The choice is made after assessment.
Setting up the post
We visit the building to understand the lobby layout, peak arrival times, existing access systems and CCTV, and any concerns you have had, such as theft from floors or unwanted visitors. We then agree written post instructions covering visitor rules, delivery handling, after-hours procedures and who to contact in an incident.
Office-hours cover is the most common arrangement; extended and night shifts can be arranged and are confirmed per site.
Supervision, reporting and agreements
Supervisors check that officers are presentable, on post and following instructions. You receive incident and occurrence reports in the format agreed, and you have a management contact to raise feedback with directly.
Lobby security is generally an ongoing contract, reviewed as tenants or staff numbers change. Short-term cover for events, relocations or a temporary gap can also be quoted.

Frequently asked questions
Will a security officer replace our receptionist?
Not necessarily. Some clients use a lobby officer alongside a receptionist, with the officer focusing on access and visitor control. Others want a security-trained officer at the front desk. We discuss which approach suits your building and your budget.
Do lobby officers wear a uniform?
Yes. Officers wear a uniform that suits a corporate environment and are expected to be well-groomed. If your building has particular presentation requirements, these can be included in the post instructions.
Can officers deal with difficult or aggressive visitors?
Officers are briefed to stay calm, keep a distance, refuse access politely and escalate according to your procedures. Where necessary they call for further assistance. They are not expected to put themselves or staff at risk.
Can you cover a campus with several buildings?
Yes. Larger campuses often combine a central reception, gate control and patrols between buildings. We design the mix after visiting the site and understanding how people move around it.
