Industrial & Warehouse Security

Industrial sites hold valuable stock, machinery, fuel and metal behind large perimeters, with trucks and shift workers moving through the gates at all hours. We secure factories, warehouses, distribution centres and yards with gate and vehicle control, perimeter guarding, loss control and electronic systems built around your operation.

  • Truck and vehicle checks
  • Perimeter and yard patrols
  • Shift-change controls
  • Armed or unarmed officers

Risks we plan for on industrial sites

Industrial security is about more than keeping intruders out. The losses we help clients address usually involve:

  • goods leaving on outgoing trucks without matching paperwork;
  • theft of copper cable, scrap metal, fuel, batteries and tools;
  • breaches through long or poorly lit fence lines and adjoining properties;
  • staff or contractors removing items at shift change;
  • hijacking risk to vehicles and drivers arriving or leaving the site.

Each risk calls for a different control, so we assess the whole operation before recommending officer numbers.

Gate, vehicle and goods control

The main gate is your control point for everything that enters and leaves. Our officers can be briefed to:

  • log incoming and outgoing vehicles, drivers and seal numbers;
  • check loads against delivery notes or gate passes where your procedure requires it;
  • manage contractor and visitor access with induction and sign-in;
  • search staff according to your written search policy at shift change.

This work overlaps with our loss control service, which also looks at receiving and dispatch procedures inside the warehouse.

Perimeter, yard and night security

Large sites need people moving, not just standing at the gate. Patrol officers cover fence lines, yards and storage areas on varying routes, recording checkpoints where a monitoring system is installed. Depending on the risk, officers may be armed or unarmed.

Electronic layers make patrols far more effective: electric fencing on boundaries, beams in open yards, CCTV over gates and high-value storage, and alarm monitoring with dispatch for after-hours activations.

Fitting security around your operations

Security that slows down dispatch will be bypassed. During the assessment we spend time understanding your shifts, delivery windows, peak periods and health and safety rules, so procedures protect the site without holding up trucks.

Officers are PSIRA-registered, screened and briefed on your site rules, including PPE and restricted zones. Supervisors visit at different times and report to your operations or plant manager. Contracts are usually ongoing, with additional officers available for peak periods, shutdowns or stock-takes, confirmed after assessment.

Frequently asked questions

Do your guards check trucks leaving the site?

Yes, where your procedure requires it. Officers can check loads against delivery notes or gate passes and record seal numbers. We agree the procedure with you so checks are consistent without delaying dispatch unnecessarily.

Should industrial guards be armed?

Not always. Armed officers suit sites with high-value goods or a history of armed incidents. Many sites are well served by unarmed officers supported by armed response. The assessment guides this choice.

Can you secure a site during a plant shutdown?

Yes. Shutdowns often bring many contractors on site and reduce normal staffing. We can add officers and access controls for the shutdown period.

Do officers follow our health and safety rules?

Yes. Officers are briefed on your site safety rules, PPE requirements and restricted zones before deployment and are expected to comply like any other person on site.
